Bury your Christmas tree at Constantine.

If you’re in the Constantine area this Sunday then there is an opportunity to bury your old Christmas tree in the sand dunes on the beach in an effort to help stabilise them. As you may or may not know, sand dunes are delicate ecosystems and if they are interfered with too much then then can decline rapidly. Even just people walking on them and kill the marram grass which long roots help to hold the dunes together. So this is an excellent opportunity to help the local environment.

It is happening from 11am – 2am.

Cornwall Out of Season.

Thanks to my friends at Constantine Bay Surf Store I have just found out that one of my pictures has been featured on the website www.callingcountry.co.uk, it can be found here.

Here are a couple screen shots and the original image;

I took this image of Ben Bennett on a very cold day last year and I managed to get a double page spread in PitPilot Surfing Magazine with a shot from the same day. (Below)

I also got a small inset photo in the magazine which is of Ben trying to warm up his feet in the public toilets hand dryer, I thought it was quite a funny spectacle and decided it had to be documented.

Lost and Found

I’ve been looking through my hard drive and have found some images which I believe should have seen the light of day, but unfortunately haven’t, i’m changing this now by putting up a post with these shots. I’m sure i’ll find more so keep checking back for updates.

Home.

I’ve been home a few times whilst on my course at UCF and so I have grasped those opportunities to expand my portfolio of surfing images with my good friend Ben Bennett. This image bellow was taken at Harlyn Bay from the cliff, I have used this angle many times before but have always struggled to get the house in the background. As soon as I had shot this sequence, I knew it was going to be a good one, only did a slight bit of tweaking in Camera RAW.

And another shot of Ben, this time at a slightly more secret location. At this time of year the sun never gets too high in the sky so the light throughout the majority of the day can make for some good images. I have noticed more and more people now shooting from a similar angle as me at this spot recently, I get the feeling i’m going to have to mix things up a bit to keep my images fresh for the mags.

Black And White

I keep finding old pictures I’ve taken on my HDD…it’s a strange experience considering i completely forgot about most of them.
